Monday 29th June #LaughterSpreadsFaster

Good Morning, welcome to another working (from home) week my Directors Of The Bored.

I hope you enjoyed your weekend, and as Monday rolls round, stick this somewhere safely behind your mask for your tea break to have a giggle later.

First, as we continue our educational path in the hope of eradicating racism, here’s a fantastic open letter from an employee to his boss at BP.

What makes it especially brilliant is that, really, the only reason I or anyone else know about it is because that boss shone a light on the open letter by responding to and sharing it.

It is exactly that kind of behaviour on both sides we need to see more of to make progress.

And now, on with today’s blog.

As Lockdown continues to ease, today non-essential shops are being allowed to reopen. Congratulations if yours is one of them, and the best of luck in your recovery.

What this means in real terms is that people are queueing for Primark.

Yes, there are actually aspects of Social Distancing I’m going to miss.

People Are Amazing

The Useful

This area of the blog was primarily designed to help you with hacks to make things easier in Lockdown, but also to help you find ways of killing the time once you’d completed Netflix, Prime and i-player.

This one is definitely an entertaining time-killer, plus it’s for another good cause.

And this one, designed by an Australian nurse, just happens to be a useful hack anytime, so the kids and hubby know which of the home medicines does what.

World Of The Weird

If ever you’re looking for a peculiar story to tell, Lockdown is the place to find a multitude of them, as a collective madness gripped a bored nation with too much free time on its hands.

Enter stage left, this guy, who found caterpillars in his broccoli, so of course raised them.

Then there’s the Mum who’s come up with a hack to make her loo roll look like it’s been designed by Chanel.

I, for one, won’t wipe my bum with anything else.

Things That Make You Go Awwwwww

I think this next story is just beautiful. It’s about a man who’s started up a youtube channel for kids growing up without Dads.

He posts videos on his page called “Dad, how do I…?”, but occasionally he’ll do stuff like this too.

Things We’ve Discovered In Lockdown

We ALL still love The Muppets. This is joy.

It’s time for The Funnies

Today’s News In Brief

Let’s end on a song. I’m feeling West-End-y.

Thanks for reading.

Stay safe x

I present radio shows for Global on Smooth Radio, run an audio media company - Mellis Media - and I also work for Aberdeen Football Club and write for a number of local media outlets.
