Goodness, this Lockdown craziness is taking its toll, isn’t it?
Directors Of The Bored, before you pounce, I type all of this with my tongue placed most firmly within my cheek, and in reality, completely recognise my good fortune to be happy and healthy at home with my family at this time.
But this blog exists to poke fun, have fun, and make laughs zip around the planet quicker and for longer than Coronavirus, so please be under no illusion, I am completely aware of what’s out there. I’m not belittling it. Broadly speaking I’m ignoring it, but for reasons closer to rallying the troops than being Ostrich like about the entire thing and pretending it’s not even happening.
That being explained, let me take it back to the top.
Goodness, this Lockdown craziness is taking its toll, isn’t it?
Child No 1 was under the impression his father had slain all the dragons in his educational path, and that his home schooling was down to a far more manageable 2 tasks per day, allowing him access to his X Box far earlier than had previously been possible prior to Easter.
Alas, it would seem, that was only an easier week of learning to gently slot back in to the system. This week, as S3 rolls out, more subjects have appeared in his daily docket, and when he gets up, he’s going to further realise because his school can’t accurately calculate just yet whether or not he’ll be able to undertake all the subjects he selected as his first choices for the Third Year Curriculum, he’s also going to have to study his second choice classes as well for a short time. His reaction will be on par with that kids experiment you do with Mentos and Coke.
Also, fully sterilised X Box in situ for daily daytime rental. Social Distancing practices guaranteed and respected. Apply in Comments section.
So that’s Fire Number 2 I’ll have to deal with today. I’ve already extinguished Fire Number 1.
Child 2 informed us last night, she’d managed to knock her own tooth out with her knee during a Zoom Martial Arts class. I wasn’t in the room at the time so I’m largely unaware whether it was accidental or to be proud she’s improving at her kicks.
Anyway, the question was raised whether the tooth fairy would be allowed to visit during these Social Distancing times.
Thanks Coronavirus.
Thanks a bunch.
Fortunately, I’ve been in touch with the Tooth Fairy through the Contact section on the magical website, and received this reply earlier.

What else you got Tuesday?
On today’s blog, The Funnies, as always, are lurking towards the end, but before that, loads more good stuff including People Are Amazing.
This section is all about community spirit and the behaviour shown by individuals and groups to make a difference throughout this time.
Residents in Ringsend, Dublin, came together on Saturday to perform the routine to Whigfield’s ‘Saturday Night’ which has enjoyed a comeback in Ireland thanks to an appearance on an episode of Derry Girls.
Watch this.
Next, in The Useful, if you haven’t yet heard of Zoom during the Lockdown, you’ve been doing it wrong. Our kids do their martial arts classes via Zoom. We’ve had Zoom chats with groups of friends. I’ve even been recording podcasts via Zoom.
Now, a bunch of games to play on Zoom to whittle away the hours of boredom. So, it’s eyes down for a full house, or Round 1 of the Bide Inn Pub Quiz. Enjoy.

World Of The Weird is probably a slightly harsh term for some of the strange turn of events which have happened as people have become increasingly Lockdown loopy.
Today’s example is Max Raymond who’s missing climbing so much, he’s built a climbing wall of his own in his council flat.

Watch the video of Max in action here.
Things We’ve Discovered In Lockdown
There’s a mile wide asteroid scheduled to pass the earth tomorrow. Had anyone told you?
Scientists expect it to glide by at a distance 16 times further than the moon. *
Named 1998 OR2, the mound of space rock shouldn’t pose any danger as it’ll pass 3.9 million miles away.
*However, given our year so far, I don’t expect you’d get long odds at the bookies.
Thankfully, it’s time for The Funnies
This, funny to everyone except, no doubt, poor Sophie, who at least had the ability to laugh at herself while sharing it.
And now, today’s News In Brief

Last for today. Let’s play out with some music.
God Bless You Gary. There on the leaner days.
Thanks for reading.
Stay safe x
