Directors Of The Bored, welcome to a new week!

I think.

I took the weekend off the blog, so to say I have a bumper edition of funnies to return to really does a massive disservice to the term ‘bumper edition’, but really, there’s A LOT of good stuff, so let’s get into it.

I’ll start with this, a photo of an impulse buy at the weekend. I’ve gone peak Dad.

As it’s become increasingly evident we’re not going to be able to go on holiday this year, we decided to go all in on this guy.

Might not be my finest hour in retrospect. Up until this point when you’ve received a burger from me at a BBQ it could be anywhere on the spectrum of raw to cremated, and my excuse has always been, “Well, you take it out to the garden, we can’t control the temperature.” That fall back has now officially gone because this thing is more controllable than the cooker in the kitchen.

I’ll let you know. It’s not even in transit yet, never mind assembled.

But when it is, I’ll be out there in blue skies, cloud, rain, hail or snow.

And on the subject of food in these times, let’s start today with The Useful.

This has just been published by IKEA on its website.

It’s a free design for something they’ve called The Grow Room, which is a structure that can be built and homed within an urban area enabling an entire neighbourhood to eat healthy green food.

Welcome to People Are Amazing.

Loved this.

Now, here’s Episode 2 in possibly a 2 episode season of “Things I’ve Discovered In Lockdown.”

I’ve learned that this is called a Dust Devil.

And now, it’s time for The Funnies

I’m not convinced this is entirely safe if they’re sharing drinks and food, but I applaud their ingenuity.

Next up, Janey Godley. I’ll fetch my Janey board. No, wait, I don’t need it this time.

But this guy definitely does. Incredibly clever, but rapping sweary stereotype overdone. Still worth a look though.

And now today’s News In Brief

Let’s play out with some music.

And from a time when we could all be together, love this.

Thanks for reading.

Stay safe x

I present radio shows for Global on Smooth Radio, run an audio media company - Mellis Media - and I also work for Aberdeen Football Club and write for a number of local media outlets. But that's work. My life and passions revolve around my wife, Lynne, and our kids, Joshua and Gracie. I’m a dog father to Ernie.
