After a slight false start on Easter Monday, (where everything was set up, and we agreed to hold off until Gracie put on a Summer dress and suncream, only for it to start raining….) yesterday evening we got out in the garden for our tea. Little things like that make all the difference, whether it’s the change of scenery, or the fresh air, or a combination of it all.
It’s a beautiful time of year anyway where everything starts to burst into life, but this year in terms of nature is even better because as we’ve been the ones to hide ourselves away, nature’s taken tentative steps, which have grown into bold strides, so that now if you venture outside, certainly where I live, it’s an orchestra out there in the evening.
I can certainly recommend it if you’re struggling with those 4 walls and have the opportunity of doing it without breaking any of the rules. Heaven forfend.
My Directors Of The Bored, you’re in absolutely the right place, as always, to get a laugh away from the misery. A gentle, much-needed piece of escapism, and today it’s that world of nature leading the way with dolphins, dogs, cats and more all starring in the funny stuff as we continue our aim of spreading laughs around the world quicker than Coronavirus.
Let’s start our fun in World Of The Weird. This lady is the literal definition of cabin fever.
I mentioned nature earlier, and how it’s blossoming in our absence. In fact, in some cases, now they’ve got the playground to themselves, if they spot some poor schmuck out trying to undertake his one hour of solo exercise, they’re prepared to get territorial about it.
The Useful
I’ve included this story here in our Useful section in case you want to give it a go. The lady in question stumbled upon success, and it required a beer company to see a massive PR opportunity, but you never know. Here’s the story.
I’m going to spend the entire day at the window holding up cards for photographs.
“Need more Lamborghinis”, that type of thing.
And this may prove useful to the younger members of the family, when they’re a little fed up. Especially if they’ve had those jammies on for so long you’re frightened they may have to be emergency cut out of them. It’s a Harry Potter Cauldron bath bomb that tells you your Hogwarts House.
I’m not even joking.

People. Are. Amazing
Wherever possible in the blog I like to highlight the behaviour of those who are going above and beyond at this time. What’s the saying, ‘not every hero wears a cape’?
It must be knackering enough in a normal day working as a nurse in a hospital, but throughout this period, I can only imagine. So on top of that, to knock out stuff like this, makes me smile and feel humble in the same moment.
Well done to the staff of Ward 17 at Woodend Hospital in Aberdeen.
And while we’re about it, let’s say hi and thank you to the staff of Edenholme Care Home in Stonehaven, (mostly because my Uncle Sandy’s a resident there!). They’ve obviously spotted the daily dance lessons from Oti Mabuse on youtube and even managed to get a mention.
And then there’s this.
OK, it’s time for the funnies.
First up, myth-busting.
Here comes Janey Godley again. Wait until I get my Janey board out.

This next one is my absolute favourite of the day. I can’t stop watching it.
Following the news he’s coming back to read a week of stories on C Beebies before the end of the month, this is always good fun.
Today’s News In Brief

And that’s just about it for our “Mostly Nature” special. Let’s play out wth some music.
Always loved this song.
Thanks for reading.
